Our company began as Brooklyn Carpet Exchange, a cash-and-carry carpet store in Brooklyn, NY. It was founded in 1953 by George Kane, the grandfather of our current CEO David Simon. As he recalls: “My grandfather opened up the warehouse, delivered in the morning, installed during the day, and sold during the evenings…six days a week.”
